Kinja'd!!!

A couple days ago, I was driving home from work and my left indicator arrow didn't work. The signals were fine on the outside and I could still hear the clicking sound like normal, and the right arrow worked, but not the left. Fast forward to yesterday, and everything was okay again. Does anyone have any idea what could have caused my arrow to just take a one-day vacation like that?

You could go insane trying to work something like that out. If it started working again I'd just forget about it.

Oh, I know. Even if the light was dead, I'm not about to open up the dashboard until one of the gauges goes bad. Too much work for such an unnecessary fix.

I'm just curious if anyone can figure it out.

Someone might have a good guess if they're experienced with auto electrics, but these sorts of things range from very simple fixes to utter nightmares.

It's just a poor connection. Could be a loose wire, or a crack in a PCB trace. Just ignore it, and bang on the dash of it goes off again.

Most likely either a loose/corroded connection or a partially failed bulb. Sometimes the filament in a bulb will break at one end but later move in such a way that it makes contact again and work for a while longer.

what kind of car? Probably a loose or bad solder on the circuit board or symptoms of your MFS not working properly. I'd ignore it if the indicators still worked okay on the cars exterior.

Loose bulb? I made half the dash in my Ford come back to life just by tightening the bulbs a hair. Hit a bump and they went out.

PITA to get to, but was a free repair.

Im not an engineer but id say there is a blockage in the electron port. Best to light the whole thing on fire.
